However, I think they are both going to suffer. The UK looks certain to take another 5% cut in its budget, and I would expect the French to suffer a similar cut to its wish list.<br /><br />Interesting to see that the French Navy has more OPVs for standing tasks. With the Indians moving at their usual glacial pace and the Brazilians holding back because of the economic slowdown, a lot of fingers are going to be crossed at Dassault over the coming months and years.<br /><br />I too would have liked to see a contingent of C-295-like aircraft for the RAF (why not the C-27J for example?), but it's a case of making do at the moment. The RAF has x6 BAe-125 and now x4 BAe-146 for light role, I'm just crossing my fingers that we don't end up dumping the C-130Js 10 years early like is currently planned.
